LEADERSHIP
MEET YOUR PASTOR
Austin began to discern God’s calling to ministry while in college at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After his undergraduate work, Austin and his wife Amy moved to Wilmore, KY, where they both attended Asbury Theological Seminary. While working on his Master of Divinity degree, Austin worked for CarMax for six years and got to know many people who felt hurt or left out by the Church. It is now his passion in ministry to reach people for Christ and welcome them into the Church, where they can find a deep community filled with love.
Austin and Amy have been married since 2015 and welcomed their daughter, Ruth, into the world in 2024. In their free time, they enjoy exploring new places, drinking great coffee, and spending time with their friends and family.
The Leadership Team
Pastor-Parish Relations
The Staff and Parish Relations Committee serves as a bridge between our church staff and congregation, ensuring open communication, support, and guidance. This team is dedicated to fostering a healthy and positive work environment for our clergy and staff, while also helping align church leadership with the spiritual and practical needs of our congregation. Together, we work to build a strong, collaborative community rooted in Christ’s love.
The Leadership Team is responsible for planning and implementing ministry and administering the organizational life of the church. This diverse group consists of the leaders of the church’s ministries and committees and gives attention to the diversity of our congregation by including men and women and people from across the age spectrum.
Finance
The Finance Committee is responsible for the stewardship of our church’s financial resources. This team ensures we manage our budget with integrity, accountability, and transparency. As part of ensuring our financial health, this committee monitors revenue and expenses so that the church is set up for success.
Communications
The Communications Committee is dedicated to sharing the life and mission of Boerne Methodist Church with both our congregation and the wider community. Through social media, newsletters, our website, and more, this team works to ensure that everyone stays informed and connected. We are passionate about making sure that the message of faith, love, and service is heard loud and clear.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the acquisition, oversight, and care of all real property owned by the church and of all property and equipment acquired by the church. This team works to identify current and future ministry needs of the church and ensure we have the needed property to engage in ministry.
Congregational Care
The Congregational Care Committee is responsible for identifying and shepherding those who are experiencing difficulties and walking with those who are celebrating special things. The team provides extra care through cards of encouragement, meal trains, and other means of support and encouragement based on the situation.
Worship
The Worship Committee helps create meaningful and inspiring worship experiences for everyone. This team works to blend elements of both traditional and contemporary expressions into all our services, and we strive to ensure that every gathering brings us closer to God and one another.
Community & Hospitality
The Community & Hospitality Committee is responsible for welcoming new people and helping them connect with our church community. This team works to warmly welcome people visiting the church for the first time and to plan and host special events for our church community. Whether it be the Sunday morning Connection Station, our annual Harvest Fest, or something else, this group has connection at its core.
Nominations & Leadership Development
The Nominations & Leadership Development Committee is responsible for identifying, developing, deploying, evaluating, and monitoring Christian spiritual leadership for the church. This team works to ensure leadership of the mission and ministry of the church, develop, train, and support spiritual leaders, and ensure that the leadership of ministries reflects the diversity of God’s people.
