MISSION, VISION & VALUES

is what we believe God has asked us to do as a church. It’s how we’re heading towards the vision God has invited us into. At Boerne Methodist, we are a community of sinners called to transformation by the Holy Spirit through loving and welcoming the weary, growing in the Christian faith once delivered to the Saints, and being renewed to serve God’s present and eternal Kingdom.

OUR MISSION

is where we believe God is calling us to go as a church. It’s our hoped-for reality that we know God is going to bring about. It’s the destination we’re journeying to. At Boerne Methodist, we long to see the Kingdom of God in our community as it is in Heaven.

OUR VISION

guide us as we engage in ministry and live out our mission. They’re highly stable and keep all the parts of our church consistent, whether we’re ministering to children or setting an annual budget.

OUR VALUES

Love God and Others

Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was. He responded with two commandments, saying “you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind” and “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37, 39). We take Jesus’ word so seriously that in everything we do, we strive to love God and others.

Seek out and focus on the Kingdom

Jesus came to bring His Kingdom to earth and welcome into it all who will follow Jesus as their king. We experience the Kingdom when we invite God to reign in every part our souls and get a glimpse of the world to come. We are Kingdom people. Therefore, we seek out ways to invite God’s reign in every part of our lives, and we focus on the glory that He reveals.

Embody and live out our theological heritage

The Methodist movement began with Rev. John Wesley and has a rich theological heritage. As the earliest Methodists did, we focus on experiencing and sharing God’s transforming grace with the whole world. We engage in the historic practices of Methodism because we experience God’s grace through them. We teach Scripture and abide by its instruction, and we live out our Wesleyan heritage as we pursue holiness through works of piety and works of mercy.
